“My connection with East Gippsland now spans eighty years, with some part of each of those years being spent on the waterways or in the High Country.

Its affect on me has been inspirational, restorative and in all, profound.

I now think of those, particularly the women, who have been sustained by this landscape over the millennia, as have I.

I marvel that some of it has survived in an almost pristine state.

As my life draws to a close this is my tribute, my homage to East Gippsland in all its forms and with all its names.”
